What is granite?
Granite is a natural rock. It is a highly dense material composed deep inside the earths core.

What affects pricing of granite and marble?
Availability…costs to extract certain materials.

Do you offer a variety of finished edges?
Yes…We offer four standard edges with our base prices and also offer a wide variety of optional edge profiles, if desired.

Does granite have pits or fissures?
Yes, granite has natural pits and fissures that are part of the stones natural structure. Some types of granite have more than others.

Can I set a hot pot directly onto my granite countertop?
Granite will not be affected by heat from a hot pot.

Can granite chip or crack?
No, not from regular use. Only in cases of extreme abuse with a hammer or other tool will granite possibly chip or crack.

Does granite stain?
All stone is porous to some extent. However, granite has very little porosity and it is unlikely that it will stain. Our finished granite installations are sealed which will also help minimize the possibility of any stains.

How do I clean my granite?
Use a mild, biodegradable liquid dish soap to clean your granite or marble. Be sure to thoroughly rinse and dry your countertop as well. Occasionally, you may use natural stone products for cleaning and polishing your granite which will help maintain its original beauty.
